Our family comes from Sombrerete, a small town in Zacatecas, a state in north-central Mexico. Farming was part of everyday life there, and Gonzalo Sr. worked the land. It taught him to pay attention—to soil, water, weather, seasons, and the small signs that show what the land needs. That experience shaped a patient, resourceful approach and a deep respect for the work that happens below the surface.
Farming did not make Central Texas the same. It taught the family how to observe. Years of local landscaping taught us to plan for intense heat, drought, and the mix of shallow limestone soils and heavy clays found across the Austin area. We learned this landscape property by property, season after season.
Today, Gonzalo Landscape and Tree Care brings together Gonzalo Sr.’s farming mindset and experience earned here in Central Texas. We approach every yard with close attention, practical recommendations, and pride in leaving it better than we found it.
